Global Sports has officially unveiled the Pickleball Open 2025, slated to run from May 8 to 11, 2025, in Dubai. The high-stakes tournament, held in collaboration with PickleTurf Pickleball Club Dubai and the Dubai Sports Council, will feature a prize pool of USD $50,000, drawing elite players from around the world.
Adding star power to the initiative, Sania Mirza, India’s iconic tennis legend and six-time Grand Slam champion, has joined Global Sports as a Partner and Ambassador alongside entrepreneur Anam Mirza. Their involvement is a pivotal moment for the sport, elevating pickleball’s presence not only in the Middle East but across the Asian continent.
“Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports globally, and I’m thrilled to be part of this movement with Global Sports,” said Mirza. “The sport promotes inclusivity, fitness, and community—values that resonate deeply with me and are crucial for the future of sports.”
With Mirza’s track record of breaking barriers and inspiring athletes across generations, her entry into the pickleball sphere signifies a powerful step toward mainstream recognition for the sport. Her presence will bring both visibility and credibility, especially among younger athletes and sports enthusiasts exploring new competitive opportunities.
This isn’t Global Sports’ first major venture. The organization recently hosted Asia’s largest pickleball competition—the Indian Open League 2025 and the Global Sports Pro and Challenger League—held in Mumbai. These events have set the standard for elite pickleball competition in Asia and laid the groundwork for what’s expected to be a landmark Dubai edition.
“Our vision at Global Sports is to create a global pickleball movement by delivering top-tier tournaments infused with competition, inclusivity, and community engagement,” said Hemal Jain, Founder of Global Sports. “With Sania Mirza’s partnership, we’re confident the Dubai Pickleball Open will set new benchmarks for the sport in the region.”
Hosting the event is PickleTurf Pickleball Club Dubai, the city’s premier indoor pickleball destination located at Mina Rashid. With cutting-edge facilities, the venue offers state-of-the-art courts catering to all skill levels. More than just a training ground, PickleTurf positions itself as a social hub—a space where community, camaraderie, and competition intersect to fuel pickleball’s rising momentum.
The club’s focus on accessibility and player development mirrors the broader mission behind the Pickleball Open 2025: to inspire participation, elevate talent, and cement Dubai’s role as a central hub for pickleball in the Middle East.
